Operation Christmas Child: Shoeboxes

Operation Christmas Child is a Christian charity which sends filled shoeboxes to needy children all over the world, from refugee camps in Sudan to to the sewers of Romania.

People wrap and fill a shoebox with items appropriate for a specific sex and age. Every year hundreds of thousands of boxes go to children who are overjoyed at receiving a gift.

For the last three years Wesley has been a collection point and warehouse for filled shoeboxes that arrive from all over Reading and the surrounding area - churches, schools and other organisations.

Volunteers help with checking and crating up the shoeboxes, which are sent to various countries. Each year we process some 2000 - 3000 boxes!
