On Sunday 22 December folk from Wesley and St Andrew's URC, together with anyone else who wanted to join in, progressed around the neighbourhood. Mary and Joseph tried to get a room in the inn but were turned away (by smiling innkeeper, Gary). Angels, wise men, donkeys and sheep walked from Wesley to St Andrew's, singing carols and greeting neighbours. Twice we sang Happy Birthday, and twice we ourselves were entertained by neighbours who had prepared their own offering of music for us; one at the local doctor's, and one at a local pub, the Earley Retreat.
