Hymns and readings

If you were unable to get to church last Sunday ... here are the hymns and readings. (Hymn book is Singing the Faith unless otherwise specified.)

Sunday 17 March
Second Sunday in Lent: Ten Commandments series
Theme: You shall not kill
Lent liturgy:

Leader: This is the 1st Sunday in Lent. Lent, from earliest days, has been a time of preparation for the events of Holy Week and Easter. Penitence and self-examination have been important parts of this preparation. We ask God to shine his light into our lives as we reflect on some of the 10 commandments during this Lent.
The theme today is ‘You shall not kill'.
Congregation: We live in a nation that is angry and in a world that is violent. We are not immune from the anger and violence. Our thoughts, words and sometimes our actions betray what is going on inside. Jesus warns us of such anger. We lament the violence in the world and regret our part in it. We are sorry.
